ZONING REGULATIONS
Nicholas County has no zoning regulations in effect other than that which is enacted and enforced within the city limits of Summersville and Richwood.
We do however want to bring to your attention in April 1994 Nicholas County was reinstated into the National Flood Insurance Program. Therefore, any person undertaking new construction, substantial improvement, the placement of relocation of any structure (including manufactured homes), will need to apply with our permit officer to decide if location is within a flood plain. A permit is also required from the Nicholas County Health Department for septic systems. You can reach their office at 304.872.5329.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Beginning the month of January 2025 the Nicholas County Commission will conduct its regular scheduled meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month beginning at 9:00 a.m.. Anyone desiring an appointment with the Commission should contact our office no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Thursday prior to our meeting date. The Public is welcomed to attend.
NORMAL HOURS FOR THE MAJORITY OF COUNTY OFFICES WITHIN THE COURTHOUSE AND ITS ANNEXES ARE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8:30 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M.
